Free online ping and traceroute tool
RouteCheck lets you ping any IP address or domain and run a traceroute directly from your browser — on a phone, tablet, or desktop. There is nothing to install and no account to create. Real ICMP requests run on our server, so it works even when your device or network blocks raw pings.
How to ping an IP address
Enter an IP address or domain (for example 8.8.8.8 or google.com) and tap Ping. You'll see the round-trip latency for each packet plus an at-a-glance summary of average latency and packet loss.
How to run a traceroute
Tap Traceroute to map every network hop between our server and the target host, along with the latency at each step. It's the quickest way to find where a connection slows down or drops along the route.
What you can do with RouteCheck
- Test whether a server or website is reachable and how fast it responds.
- Measure latency and spot packet loss on a connection.
- Trace the network path to diagnose routing problems.
- Share results with a colleague or on social media in one tap.
Frequently asked questions
Is RouteCheck free?
Yes — it's completely free for everyone, with no sign-up.
Why does ping run on a server instead of my browser?
Browsers can't send raw ICMP packets for security reasons, so the ping and traceroute are executed on our server and the results are sent back to you. This is how every web-based ping tool works.
Can I check both an IP and a domain name?
Yes. RouteCheck accepts both IPv4/IPv6 addresses and domain names.
